The foundation of the finish

Floor preparation, grinding and levelling.

A new floor performs best when its substrate is understood. Preparation can be a standalone service or part of your complete flooring package.

Floor preparation & removal
Inspect the existing surface and scope removal of agreed floor coverings, adhesive and unsuitable coatings. Assess suspect hazardous materials before disturbance.
Concrete grinding
Remove surface irregularities or coatings and establish the profile required by the next system, with appropriate dust controls.
Levelling & smoothing
Match the compound, primer and thickness to the subfloor and finish. Confirm thresholds, door clearances and any intentional drainage falls.
Moisture assessment & treatment
Assess the source and level of moisture before specifying a compatible treatment. A coating cannot be assumed to solve active leaks or every damp slab.
Cracks & local repairs
Identify stable defects, movement and weak patches. Agree repair limits and any further investigation before covering the floor.

Choose the way it lives

Flooring materials for homes and businesses.

Compare the look with the practical details: how the floor feels, how it is cleaned and what it needs from the substrate.

The edges matter, too.

Repairs and finishing are part of a usable floor: local patches, damaged boards or tiles, skirtings, stair nosings, thresholds and transitions between materials. We review existing wear, spare-material availability and colour variation before promising a repair match.

Useful before we start

Your questions, answered.

Can you install flooring that I have already purchased?

Yes. We can quote installation only after checking the product, condition, quantity, subfloor and installation instructions. We agree who provides underlay, adhesive, trims and other accessories, and identify responsibility for product supply separately from installation.

Can you supply the materials as well as install them?

Yes. A supply and installation package can include material selection, ordering, preparation, installation and finishing within the agreed scope. Final samples, quantities, product requirements and supply terms are confirmed before order.

Do you work on homes as well as commercial buildings?

Yes. We handle residential and commercial flooring for new builds, renovations and local repairs. The specification is matched to the use, traffic, cleaning needs and site conditions.

Can you grind, level or repair an existing concrete floor?

Yes. These can be scoped as standalone preparation works or as part of a new flooring package. Moisture, cracks, contamination and the condition of existing finishes are assessed before choosing a treatment. Structural movement or persistent moisture may require investigation before finishing.

Are SPC, vinyl or tiles automatically waterproof?

No. A water-resistant product is different from a complete waterproof installation. Wet-area suitability depends on the selected product, substrate, membrane where required, joints, perimeter details and manufacturer instructions.

Can you work around an occupied home or trading business?

Where the site allows it, we can discuss staged access, furniture movement, noise, dust controls and reopening times. Adhesive drying and coating cure periods remain part of the programme. Suspect hazardous old flooring or adhesive requires assessment before removal or grinding.

What affects flooring installation costs in Auckland and NZ?

Area, product choice, existing floor removal, moisture treatment, levelling, access, furniture movement, stairs and edge details all affect the scope. The programme also includes material lead times, acclimatisation where required, adhesive drying or coating cure times. A site review gives a clearer basis than a generic square-metre price.

Which areas do you cover?

We serve customers across New Zealand, with Auckland projects prioritised. Site visits, travel, delivery and scheduling are agreed to suit the project location and scope.
